
Amy Tabor represents a variety of corporate and individual clients in civil trials, arbitrations, and appeals. She has appeared for clients in federal and state courts throughout the United States. Her clients have included Fortune 500 companies in the electricity production, natural gas transportation, oil and gas production, and oilfield services industries. In addition to her broad commercial litigation experience, Ms. Tabor has a special expertise in class actions and antitrust. Texas Monthly recognized Ms. Tabor as a "rising star" in 2006-2009.
A native Houstonian, Ms. Tabor graduated, with high honors, from the University of Texas School of Law in 2003, where she was a member of the Texas Law Review and the Order of the Coif. She earned her B.A. from Brown University, magna cum laude, in 1995 and received a Mellon Fellowship in the Humanities to study history at the University of California at Berkeley from 1995-1999. Before joining Schiffer Odom Hicks & Johnson, Ms. Tabor practiced at the international law firm of Baker Botts L.L.P.
Ms. Tabor represented a major energy company in antitrust litigation related to the California Energy Crisis. She also has experience in securities fraud, mortgage fraud, and energy project litigation. In pro bono matters, Ms. Tabor has represented several clients in immigration proceedings, winning asylum in the United States for individuals persecuted in their home countries because of their political beliefs. She is an active member of the Houston Bar Association, where she serves as Co-chair of the Communities in Schools Legal Internship Committee and as Chair-elect of the Antitrust & Trade Regulation Section.
